Taking place in the 20's, the color scheme was inspired by vintage photographs and the compiling of different mediums is meant to showcase the confusion and curiosity the main character faces throughout the story.
Revolutionary Road's book cover was created through overlaying hand drawn branches over an image of a road. The boldness of the dark branches overtop of the soft imagery captures the parallel of beauty and darkness that the book's story follows.
